Where can I find ebooks?

I'm trying to find an electronic copy of a book (ebook) -- where should I look? How do I search for and read ebooks on the LAVC Library website?

Answer

You have access to thousands of electronic books (ebooks) through the LAVC Library website!

Our two largest ebook databases are:

Clicking on the names of the databases above may bring you to a login screen -- follow these directions for logging in from off-campus.

*For additional help, please refer to our Ebooks Guide*

In addition to the two databases listed above, even more ebooks can be found by using OneSearch, the big search bar at the top of the Library homepage. For help with finding ebooks through OneSearch, please refer to our Find Books guide, especially the portions about limiting your results to LAVC ebooks and opening/reading ebooks.

Note: the majority of LAVC Library's ebooks are non-fiction and focus on academic subject matter. Occasionally, required textbooks may be available in ebook format on the Library website; however, this is not a common occurrence. If you are searching for a fiction book in ebook format, your best bet is to start your searching in OneSearch, rather than the EBSCO/ProQuest databases.
